Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. At all. The Day21 | FreezeFence extension ("the extension") has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no servers of ours involved in its operation. It makes no network requests of its own. Everything the extension does happens locally, inside your browser, on your device.

What the extension does with data

The extension keeps browser tabs you explicitly chose alive — it stops the browser from freezing (pausing) or discarding (unloading) them. To do that, it:

• Runs a small keep-alive guard on protected pages only. The guard checks that the page is still running and reports its liveness to the extension — locally. It does not read page content, form data, passwords, or messages, and it is never injected into pages you did not protect.
• Adjusts tab settings in your browser. For protected tabs, the extension asks the browser not to discard them. This is a browser-level flag on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
• Stores your rules and settings in your browser. Which sites and tabs you protect, the protection level, interface language, and similar preferences live in your browser's local extension storage. They never leave your device.
• Keeps a local diagnostic log. Recent extension events (such as "protection armed" or "tab was frozen") are recorded locally so you can troubleshoot. Entries may include the hostnames of protected sites, but by default not full web addresses. Logs are automatically trimmed by retention limits you can adjust, and they never leave your device unless you choose "Export report", which saves a file to your computer for you to share at your discretion.

What we never do

• No accounts or sign-in of any kind.
• No analytics, telemetry, usage statistics, or crash reporting.
• No collection of browsing history, page content, credentials, messages, or personal information.
• No selling, sharing, or monetizing of data — we hold none to begin with.
• No remote configuration or code loaded from servers — the extension ships complete.

Browser permissions, explained

• Site access (on demand). The extension installs with no access to any website. The first time you turn protection on, the browser asks once whether to allow access — its standard prompt uses the wording "read and change all your data on all websites", which is the browser's fixed template for site access. The extension uses this access only to keep your chosen pages alive across reloads. You can revoke it at any time in your browser's extension settings.
• Storage. Keeps your rules, settings, and the local diagnostic log on your device.
• Alarms. Lets the extension periodically re-check that protected tabs are still protected, and re-apply protection if the browser undid it.
• Scripting. Injects the keep-alive guard into pages you chose to protect — and nowhere else.
• Active tab. Reads the current tab's address only when you click the toolbar icon, so the popup can show and toggle that page's protection.

This website

This website (www.day21.dev) sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts and all assets are served from our own origin. Our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) as any web host must in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse; we run no analytics code and see only aggregate, non-identifying traffic counts.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data that an organization holds about you. We hold none: there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete. Data the extension stores locally can be removed at any time by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling it — uninstalling deletes all of it.

Children

The extension and this website are not directed at children and, as described above, collect no data from anyone — including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. A change will never retroactively grant us rights over data — we do not collect any.
